2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password, and billing details when you create an account or subscribe to a paid plan.
  • Resume data: resumes and CVs you upload for parsing and job matching, including work history, skills, education, and contact details contained within those documents.
  • Job preferences: desired roles, salary expectations, location preferences, industry preferences, and other search criteria you configure.
  • Application data: cover letters generated, interview preparation materials, and application tracking information.
  • Communications: messages you send to us through support channels or feedback forms.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, search queries, click patterns, and interaction timestamps.
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language settings.
  • Log data: IP addresses, access times, referring URLs, and error logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7 below.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including job matching, scoring, and recommendation features.
  • Parse and analyze your resume to generate match scores, readiness assessments, and personalized insights.
  • Generate cover letters, interview preparation materials, and salary intelligence tailored to your profile.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription through our payment processor (Paystack).
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, match notifications) and, with your consent, marketing communications.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. AI Processing

Seekr uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to parse resumes, score job matches, detect ghost job listings, generate cover letters, and create interview preparation materials. Your data is sent to these AI services solely for the purpose of providing Service features. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: hosting (DigitalOcean), database (Supabase), payment processing (Paystack), email delivery (Resend), and AI inference (Google) providers who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes. Parsed resume data and generated content (cover letters, interview prep) are deleted when you delete your account.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not participate in interest-based advertising cohorts (FLoC/Topics API is explicitly disabled).

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest.
  • Row-level security policies on all database tables.
  • Rate limiting on all API endpoints.
  • Regular security audits and dependency updates.

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and personal data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing.
